UNIPOL™ PE Products For Blow Molding Applications

The blow molding process produces a wide range of polyethylene containers and articles such as bottles, toys and shipping drums. Molten resin is extruded to form a parison; the mold halves close around the parison and then air is blown into the parison forcing it to fill the mold. UNIPOL™ PE Products deliver a variety of highly competitive grades for blow molding applications, including both homopolymer and copolymer offerings.

Household Industrial Chemical (HIC)

UNIPOL™ PE Products that are HDPE blow molding grades serve all major Household-Industrial-Chemical (HIC) container applications. Product applications covered include detergent, bleach, fabric softeners, automotive and marine supplies, antifreeze, motor oils, and agricultural chemicals. UNIPOL™ PE Products are excellently suited for HIC applications because grades can be designed to offer an optimum combination of stiffness and ESCR, which allows long-life and can produce containers in different shapes, sizes and attractive colors for brand recognition.

Industrial Containers & Drums

Industrial drums are self-supported containers that hold 5 to 55 gallons. The tight-head drums are the most popular type of drum and are used for free-flowing liquids. The other type, the open-top drum with a fully removable top or lid, is used to hold powders, pastes, and semi-liquids. UNIPOL™ PE Products are excellently suited for this application due to its light-weight, optimum balance of stiffness and ESCR, high Impact strength and parison stability during the extrusion blow molding process. Additionally, Low Flow Index capabilities of UNIPOL™ PE Products allows participation in the L-Ring drum market segment.

Beverage Bottles

UNIPOL™ PE Products include HDPE homopolymer blow molding resins cover beverage bottle and food container applications, including liquid food containers (milk, water, fruit-flavored beverages, apple cider, 10-liter to 0.2-liter sizes) and also food service containers (mayonnaise jars, 4-liter size, wide-mouth containers). UNIPOL™ PE Products are well-suited for these applications due to their outstanding organoleptic properties and one-step molding process.

Personal Care

Consumer safety has made polyethylene the preferred plastic material for packaging personal care products. Applications include cosmetics, fragrances and toiletries, hair care products, skin preparations, personal hygiene, eye care, nail polishes, and makeup items. Personal care bottles can be molded into a range of shapes and sizes. UNIPOL™ PE Products, because the inert nature of the resin, does not interact with the packaged item giving the consumer the confidence that is it safe for use. UNIPOL™ PE Products for personal care bottle applications can also be molded and pigmented into attractive colors that reflect quality and for brand recognition.

Motor Oil Bottles

UNIPOL™ PE Products include blow molding products for motor oil bottles ranging in size up to 4 liters in capacity. UNIPOL™ PE Products are excellently suited for motor oil applications due to the optimized combination of stiffness and ESCR, which allows long-life. UNIPOL™ PE Products for motor oil bottles can also be produced in different shapes, sizes and attractive colors for brand recognition.

Other – Non-Packaging Blow Molding

UNIPOL™ PE Products can be used for a range of non-packaging blow molded applications, which include tool boxes, garbage containers, furniture parts, and toys as well as ice chests and coolers. UNIPOL™ PE Products are excellently suited for this application due to high stiffness, dimensional control, and ability to be blow molded into complex and non-symmetrical shapes. UNIPOL™ PE Products can be produced in different shapes, sizes and attractive colors for brand recognition.
